Abstract The working condition of water valve is an important sign the success for navigation lock design, and cavitation characteristics suppression technology key technical challenge in design high head lock, view “flat bottom & top spreading” with “less project quantities, convenient construction” simple type corridor 19 m Qianwei ship method combining physical model test prototype observation are both adopt to this research. Through test, position, effect natural ventilation on comprehensively determined by analyzing change law noise intensity from several sensors under different opening conditions during process, also visual flow state auditory observation. Prototype focuses self-aerated lintel. When air pipe outside value lintel position closed, there evident pulse signal, maximum strength can reach 182Pa, “crackling” collapse could be clearly felt at value, occasionally 2–3 times slight “muffled thunder”, results show that section has stronger process value.
